The little basics of color caps - Color caps - the little multiplication table

Color caps are usually plastic pots in which the color for tattooing is filled. But what differences are there actually and what to look out for?

The basics of color cap theory

Let's start at the beginning.
You need a separate color cap for each color. If you need five different colors for a tattoo, you also need five individual color caps. You should fill as much color as you need to create the tattoo.
The containers are disposable or single-use caps, which you must dispose of after each customer for hygienic reasons
The use of the color caps is very simple. Simply fill the desired color into the cap, dip the needle of the machine into the color and then the tattooing can begin.
For some motifs you may need more color, so the color caps are available in different sizes. The most common sizes are 8, 9, 13, 15 and 30 mm head diameter.

Silicone, plastic or biodegradable?

As mentioned, paint caps come in a wide variety of sizes and, of course, colors. But they also differ in the material used. Today we show you caps made of silicone, plastic and even compostable paint caps.

Let's start with the silicone paint caps. Like all paint caps, the silicone caps have an extra wide base that prevents them from tipping over. Because of the silicone material, you don't have to worry about the vibrating needle touching the edge of the paint cap. The vibration is absorbed by the silicone and the paint is thus protected from spilling.

Paint caps with practical plug-in connections? Yes, that is also available. With the plug connections you have thousands of possibilities to arrange your colors for the next session. In addition, the connection ensures that nothing slips and if you fix the whole thing with Vaseline or tape, you have a bombproof construction.

Let's move on to compostable ink caps. Tattoo accessories such as cling film, protective covers or even couch covers are disposable products that end up in the trash after a session. Many tattoo artists already make sure to use environmentally friendly materials.
The ink caps are made of PLA, which falls under the category of synthetic polymers and is artificially produced in the laboratory. This material is also called "bio-plastic", because it is produced on the basis of renewable raw materials (corn starch and lactic acid).
Compared to the production of similar tattoo disposable plastic products, Already in the production process is consumed 65% less energy and 68% less greenhouse gas is produced.
