All About: Cheyenne Professional Tattoo Supplies - Cheyenne Tattoo Supplies

Cheyenne Professional Tattoo Supplies has been around since 2006 and since then they have been producing professional tattoo equipment in Berlin with selected tattoo artists. Cheyenne sees itself in the duty to equip tattoo artists with the perfect tools and to contribute significantly to the development in the tattoo industry.
We are also a fan and want to provide you today with interesting facts about the company and the products.

Cheyenne Professional Tattoo Supplies

So everything began in 2006 in Berlin. Cheyenne's range includes rotary machines, needle modules in numerous configurations and ergonomic grips, as well as practical tattooing accessories. So everything in the field of consumables. The products are currently distributed in more than 63 countries worldwide.
Cheyenne is in dialogue with tattoo artists to always be informed about what the artist currently wants and needs for his craft.
Cheyenne's products are designed to simplify complicated processes and thus minimize workload. Thus, the artist can fully concentrate on living his art to the fullest.

For example, did you know that Cheyenne's cartridges were the first disposable needle modules for Rotarys?

Cartridges

So Cheyenne Professional Tattoo Supplies was the pioneer of the first disposable needle cartridges. Let's just take a look at a few of the cartridges in detail.

Cheyenne Safety Cartridges Open Liner

The Cheyenne Safty Cartridges have been in our assortment for quite some time and surely some of you are using them as well. In August 2022 the range was extended by another product, the Open Liner. But what exactly is behind it and what do the cartridges bring you?

As we certainly all know, our skin ages and so do our tattoos and those of our customers. Tattoos appear after some time no longer so sharp and delimited. Motifs with strong, saturated lines suffer less from this process than filigree work. And for thick lines, you need large liner configurations.
For that, you usually need, several or thicker needles soldered into a bundle. That is correct per se and has been done that way in the past.
So where is the difference to the other models? The well-known liners from Cheyenne are compressed in the tip area, which causes the individual needles in the needle package to taper together. The open liners run parallel up to the tip.
Professionals will certainly have noticed: what is the difference between open liners and shaders? The answer lies in the taper length and the average free solder length. While the open liners have a super long taper, the shaders have a long taper. In addition, the liners have a short solder length and the shader has a long area.
As a result, the lines are easier to control with the Open Liner and more precise lines are achieved as a result.

So if you have precise lines from crisp to bold in your style repertoire, you should definitely go for the Open Liner.

Cheyenne Capillary Cartridges

Want 10x longer ink flow? No problem with the Capillary Cartridges from Cheyenne. No more constant settling and picking up new color. Work focused and longer on your motifs.
How this works and what you should pay attention to when tattooing, we explain here.
The long ink flow is made possible by the capillary cartridge with reservoir inside the tip. The capillary cartridges absorb more ink than conventional cartridges when filled. Mixing colors and complete cleaning with water is still possible as usual. Cheyenne has also improved the needle guidance, which allows ultra-precise work in any direction. Good ink flow and precision when working at the same time? Actually impossible with a cartridge.
This is made possible by the patented tip of the Capillary. The tip contains a cannula and a reservoir above it, which fills with ink when the needle is dipped into the ink cap. Unlike conventional needle modules, the channel spirals around the needle package. This means that the needle sits more tightly and the spiral shape ensures uniform wetting.

What do you have to pay attention to when tattooing with capillaries?

  • the needle should be dipped in paint longer than conventional. Because only then can the reservoir also fill properly.
  • if the cartridge has to be changed during work, make sure that the cartridge used is rinsed well before putting it away. Ink and blood residues can dry out and clog the capillary. Therefore, it is best to always have a cup of water available. However, the water level should only reach the tip of the cartridge

Much of the equipment and working materials in the tattoo world depend on user preferences. From inks and needles to machines and power supplies. Therefore, feel free to check out our other tattoo needles in the store.

Choosing the right machine

Whether you're a beginner or a professional, we all need the right machine for the job. We present you two machines from the Cheyenne family.

Cheyenne Sol Nova Unlimited

Annoying cables that interfere with tattooing are now a thing of the past. Cheyenne introduced its new Sol Nova Unlimited cordless machine in 2020 and made the hearts of many tattoo artists beat faster. But what can the machine actually do and for whom is it suitable?

The Sol Nova Unlimited weighs just 184 grams and is not even 13 cm long. And yet the machine is packed with innovative technology. Unlike other cordless machines, there is no need to install a third-party battery; the power supply is directly integrated.
Power is supplied to the machine by a rechargeable battery, available at any electronics store. When the battery is fully charged, it has a minimum runtime of five hours. It takes a short three hours to fully charge the battery. Also, as a tattoo artist, you don't have to worry about fluctuating performance when the battery is low. The machine runs constantly with the set parameters until the battery is empty. You can also always check the charge level via the multicolored LED on the machine.
Thanks to just one control knob, the Sol Nova Unlimited is also user-friendly. This button can be used to switch the machine on and off, adjust the piercing frequency and switch between the two operating modes. The machine comes with two modes. The Responsive Mode and the Steady Mode.
In Responsive Mode, the needle enters the skin, causing the resistance to increase. Under this load increase, the pricking frequencies and thus the hit collapse. Depending on the skin condition, the response of the machine varies.
In Steady Mode, the motor's controller continuously measures the stitch frequency. If the load on the motor increases, the controller reacts and supplies the motor with more energy. The stitch frequency and the hit thus remain constant, regardless of the condition of the skin.
Responsive Mode is therefore often used for soft shading, while Steady Mode is more suitable for rich lines.
You can easily switch between the modes by long pressing the button. The frequency change is done via gesture control. Simply hold the button down while the machine is running, tilting the machine up increases the stitching frequency. Tilting downward reduces the frequency. Once you have found the right frequency, simply release the button.
It sounds unusual at first, but it is intuitive and can be used quickly.
