Hygiene is particularly important in professions such as doctors, beauticians or professional tattoo artists. Why gloves are so important in these areas and what differences there are, we tell you here.
Why do we use gloves?
Disposable gloves are not only found at the tattoo artist's workplace. They are also part of the everyday work of doctors, piercers and hairdressers. All professions are exposed to a high health risk or come into contact with chemicals. Therefore, the own protection, as well as the protection of the customer is particularly important.
The disposable gloves reliably protect against contact with germs, blood, dirt or other things that should not get on the skin. And as the word implies, the gloves are used only once and then disposed of. But what gloves are there actually and what makes them?

Especially for tattoo artists and piercers, a distinction is made between latex and nitrile gloves.
Latex gloves protect especially against acids and alkalis, but are more permeable to oils and many solvents. Nitrile gloves are more resistant to chemicals and oils, but are more permeable to many solvents such as acetone.
The penetration time is also influenced by the thickness of the material. If you would like to have gloves that are more resistant to solvents, you should choose thicker gloves.

Powdered gloves make it easier for you to put them on, even in summer, when your hands are wet, and guarantee a pleasant wearing comfort. However, if you have dry hands, we recommend that you stay away from powdered gloves. The powder dries out your hands even more.
