Vaseline or Aftercare? Or both in one? - Similarities and differences of vaseline and aftercare

Vaseline as well as Aftercare can be found in any good tattoo studio.
While Vaseline helps to remove excess ink more easily and to let the needle glide more easily into the skin, Aftercare is used for the aftercare.
But which product do I need now exactly and isn't there something that can do both?

Vaseline

Predominantly Vaseline is used for the tattoo session itself and also to apply after completion of the tattoo as protection. You get Vaseline in different sizes, some with fragrance, some of solid and some of creamy consistency. Scent and consistency have no effect on the main properties of Vaseline.
Regular petroleum jelly is not suitable for use as aftercare, as it protects the freshly stitched wound from germ formation and dirt, but does not noticeably support the wound healing process.
Most tattoo artists and customers therefore use special aftercare creams for wound healing.

Aftercare

Aftercare product is the name given to creams that are used specifically after tattooing. The creams promote the formation of moisture and improve wound healing. Customers can purchase this either directly from your local shop or from any well-stocked drugstore.
When buying an aftercare cream, however, you should look closely at the ingredients. The dexpanthenol content in particular can vary in the products and contribute to different tolerances.
So if you want to cater to the widest possible customer base, you should choose a product that is free from synthetic colors and fragrances, kerosenes, preservatives, silicones, parabens and PEG emulsifiers.
In our experience, customers often want an aftercare that also relieves nasty itching and redness.

2-in-1 product

Meanwhile, there are also all-rounders on the market that combine the advantages of Vaseline and Aftercare in one product. Thus, they can be used both during tattooing and for aftercare.
Another advantage of the Allrounder product is that your customer can already get to know the product during the session. For example, if it smells pleasantly of eucalyptus, you can bring the product to the customer during the session.
The Inked Army offers such an all-rounder. With the Vaselinum you can already work during the session and recommend it to your client for aftercare.
The Vaselinum is available in different variations with different herbs. But why with herbs? We will show you what advantages the individual herbs bring with them.

Vaselinum Calendula

Calendula, or better known as the marigold, is particularly versatile and has been used for hundreds of years as a medicinal plant in a variety of settings.
The extracts of calendula relax the stressed skin during the tattooing process and promote the regeneration process. Drying of the skin and skin irritation are prevented.

Vaselinum Eucalypti

This Vaselinum contains high quality eucalyptus oil, which is extracted from the leaves of the eucalyptus tree. The oil cools and soothes the skin. Further, the oil contains anti-inflammatory agents that further support wound healing.

Vaselinum Aloe

This Vaselinum was developed on the basis of the Aloe Vera plant. The extract obtained from its leaves helps the skin to hydrate and thus supports elasticity as well as resistance.

And as already mentioned, you get the whole thing in different sizes.
Whether as a practical sales display or as a storage bucket, we certainly have the right one for your studio.
